Multi-chapter fic writers: How often practise you upload new capacity (disallowment any delays, writer's cake, etc.)?

This. I write long capacity, so it can either get done in a calendar week or a month since the last affiliate. Ha!

Somewhere between ii-5 weeks, ordinarily. I voted for once a month, because every other week is giving myself too much credit.

It depends how like shooting fish in a barrel the drafting is happening. For my current WIP, information technology started weekly, considering I had x chapters pre-drafted, but then I got stuck a few times and found that gap rapidly closing, and so I changed to fortnightly updates which aligns much better with how long it'south currently taking me to draft a affiliate.

Twice a week, usually - just that'south considering I almost ever accept the bulk of the story (and sometimes the Entire story) done in advance. It was hard at kickoff to make myself look, simply I find every bit I tinker, I like to go back and add together/tweak things.

Whenever I get a chapter finished.

I've noticed that the first few days I post a chapter the kudos come rolling in and and so ho-hum down to a trickle. If I have more chapters ready to mail service, I wait until the kudos are slower than a trickle. (Usually this is unintentional because I nigh never take multiple chapters fix to post).

I accept no schedule. I upload whenever I retrieve the chapter is washed, but I try never to upload more than 1 a week to give readers time to read the final chapter.

If I have the whole thing done in advance, which has only happened twice, I practise weekly.

If I'grand actively working and information technology's going well, updates are biweekly.

And sometimes hiatuses have to happen, considering I am the master of overworking myself.

Other: depends on how I feel! If I'g unsure of what my readers would similar, I finish two/three chapters, let them sit and garner stance and if the reaction is loud, I'll put my nose to the grind and finish. Or, if the reaction is lurkwarm and im unhappy with the upshot, I won't cease it and will probable just chuck the fic out.

I think i calendar week is my sweet spot. Information technology's only long enough to keep the cliffhangers going when I desire just not so long that people drift off or forget stuff. Kinda similar a Idiot box bear witness.

But as well all my WIPS are done (too editing) before I post them because I take anxiety about finishing stuff. So a schedule but works for me to make sure I'm keeping up on my edits.

I have one WIP that I was updating one time a week, writing as I become. Well, now I'm stuck. All my other long fics I decided to write completely before posting. Then I do a wearisome release 1-2 posts per week.

My chapters are on the longer side (x-12k words), and I used to aim for twice a month which really kind of burned me out. So once a month is good for me to go on the quality up. I think if my chapters were around 5-7k I could do twice a month again, only information technology's just not possible for me lol. Readers seem fine with it too since they get a lot of content per update. :P
